Commercial
Getting the most from existing buildings and space has been the key component of numerous projects this year. In one instance our Multinational client had a requirement to accommodate almost 100 additional office based staff for a period of up to 36 months. Initial consideration was given to leasing new space and to installing temporary accommodation however these were discounted in favour of an existing building revamp. This revamp included partial atrium infill and a complete reorganization of existing office space. Footprint’s experienced design team produced a layout where all current staff were comfortably accommodated and open plan space, meeting rooms and offices were created for the new staff. Footprint coordinated the activities of all contractors thus ensuring that the building remained safe and accessible for all staff as the work progressed. Structural works, shutdowns and impairments where scheduled in a manner that did not effect ongoing business operations.
On another project converting existing warehouse space into modern offices provided a unique challenge for Footprint Project Management. As one of our clients expanded their operations they needed new office space to accommodate additional staff. The only viable option, without leasing new offices, was to convert existing warehouse to offices. The space provided unique challenges particularly in terms of natural light. With no windows in the space the only natural light came from numerous skylights. Using the skylights as a light source 30% of the ceiling grid was in filled with translucent ceiling tiles producing a bright and airy office area. Daylight sensors were included in lighting scheme to ensure that optional working light levels are maintained on dull or overcast days.
Fast Response
A bank holiday weekend call from a client was a call to action for Footprint Project Management. Our Cork based client had just been awarded a substantial government contract and had 2 weeks to refurbish and fitout office space for 20 staff in Dublin city centre. Footprint agreed layouts and scope of work within days and using our broad contact base tendered all substantial elements of work. Renovations and furniture installation were completed within 7 days allowing our client to commence operations on schedule.
Specialized Meeting rooms.
For the 2nd time in twelve months Footprint have been called upon by a client to oversee the high specification fitout of meeting room to accommodate a CiscoTM Telepresence system. With strict standards in terms of sound, reverberation, lighting and cooling a high standard of coordination and workmanship was required. All works had to comply with Cisco’sTM exact specifications.
Residential Projects
On the residential side Footprint has guided a number of clients through the process of building and extending their homes. In today’s environment value for money is vital and helping clients understand pricing and quality has been a key component of our service.
Footprint in Community
When Fermoy businessman James Maye committed to volunteering with the ‘Playing for Life’ foundation in Malawi he had to undertake a substantial fundraising initiative. A unique ‘mouse racing’ fundraising event was planned and with the help of Footprint Project Management the event proved to be a huge success. Footprint’s Con Lawlor took on the role of project manager. Con, working in a voluntary capacity, worked closely with James to plan and coordinate the entire event.
Earlier this year Footprint took the lead as Castlelyons GAA club staged the official reopening of their playing facilities. The highlight of which was an Senior Inter-county Hurling match.
